Powerful, passionate and meaningful are just a few words to describe the performance of Andrea Reschke as she sings her songs about love, lessons and life. Inspired by Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, and Jewel (to name a few,) she creates inspiring songs with a style similar to that of Sarah McLachlan.
Andrea was born and raised near Cedaredge, Colorado. From a young age, this small-town girl has always held music in her pocket hoping to touch the lives of people around her. Kindergarten started a 12 year journey of piano lessons in addition to playing the oboe and clarinet through Jr. High and High school. Singing came naturally from the earliest time she remembers as she sang with her mom in the basement to performing in church and in a national touring children's chorus at the age of 14. She started putting the two together (singing and playing the piano,) unleashing a hidden talent of songwriting.
Inspired by a Jr. High School teacher, Andrea found writing to be a positive outlet and release of her feelings. Many people have wiped their eyes dry after being touched by the song "Becky", written about Ms. Jardon. It tells the story from Andrea's point of view, a student trying to understand the death of her favorite teacher. It is a truly moving song in which many people relate.
After high school, Andrea headed to sunny California to face the challenge of life and independence. Many more experiences stimulated new songs and still continue to do so. At the beginning of 2005, Andrea started performing at open mic's all over San Diego County. She is still pursuing her dream of making a living with her music by sharing her songs with the world and touching lives in the meantime!
